How to create a good hyperlink

April 22nd, 2011

I recently spoke with a lady who needed help setting up her first website. She was a great writer and can write many articles in a short amount of time and each one was very high quality. I set her up a site on Blogger.com and I thought she would be ready to go. What ended up happening is this lady got completely hung up on Blogger.com’s tagging system. You can tag each article you write with several descriptions the article is about. No matter how many ways I described the tagging system she could not understand the concept and did not want to go further with her website until this was understood. Although the tag system was not critical to her success she became permanently stagnated in failure before she ever really began. What we teach is moving past this silly type of behavior. You need to write 4 articles in total to begin. The first article will be of high quality while the other articles will be similar in topic but not necessarily as high of a quality article as your original.

Here is how writing articles to your site works. You need to write one high quality very good compelling article on your site of a topic of your choice. The article on your website needs to be extremely good, edited, and spelled correctly. You do not want to re-post this article on another site. This article needs to be exclusive to this site so be sure you get this point as it is extremely important. You will then write some more articles that may be similar but do not have to have the kind of thought and time that went into the first article.

Although it is a smart thing to have your main website on a paid web host like Bluehost you can also use free hosts like Wordpress.com, Blogger.com, and Tumblr.com. Once you have one or two sites setup begin writing your articles on these sites. Even if you have no sites setup yet you could still be writing articles and when those sites are up you can simply paste those articles into the sites once you get them up. The important point is to not get held up in the process of moving forward in some way. The main failing point when making a money making site is that people eventually fail before they have even really started. So get started in writing a main article and 3 more similar articles that do not have to be as good.

Now that you have an article written on these other websites you can concentrate on thinking about how to create a hyperlink in that article that links back to the original article you have written on your main site. Keep in mind that these articles written on other sites are not the exact same as your original article. The articles may be about the same topic but you did not copy and paste the content from one site to another. You never want to duplicate content. Search engines hate duplicate content. To create the links in the article that link back to your article on your main site you simply need to find the paperclip icon in the site graphical user interface. There you can enter the site URL, Title, and Alt Text. The ALT text and keywords are critical to doing an effective SEO linking strategy. You want to make sure you link to the main article using the same words you expect someone to search in Google to find your article. Keep it under 4 words and you will receive more traffic.

Finally do not forget to link back to the main site using the right keywords. On self hosted sites, Blogger.com, and Wordpress.com you will see a little paper clip icon. This icon automatically creates hyperlinks for you. In the url field simply enter the website address back to the main article on your main site. In the ALT text area enter a 2 - 3 word keyword that people would use to search in a search engine like Yahoo to find your subject matter. Finally in the Title field enter 2 - 3 words slightly different than the ALT text that people would use to search fro your article in similar search engines like Google.

Use Back Links To Increase SEO

December 11th, 2010

SEO is short for search engine optimization. This is critical to your success in your internet business. You need to understand the basis for search engine optimization so you can understand its importance. Try searching a popular term such as puppy training.

How can you possibly get ranked on the first page if you are in the business of puppy training? This is where search engine optimization is involved. Some will say that search engine optimization is a science while others say it is a skill and a craft. But in any case, you need to practice website optimization techniques if you want to make money on the internet.

Some say this is a science while others say it is a skill. But the bottom line is that you can take steps to make your website, as some say, search engine friendly, so you too can be on the first page of search results. One criteria the search engines look at is back links.

The more links back to your site, the higher your site will be ranked. The back link is simply a ling on another website that back links to your site. The search engines view back links as evidence of a websites importance. If other websites are back linking to your site, then your site must be providing valuable information.

The search engines’ single purpose is to provide internet searchers with the most up to date and relevant information based on their search terms they enter. So if you want to rank high on the search results, you need to increase the number of your back links.

One way to increase your back links is to simply contact other website owners in your target market and ask them to add a link from their site to yours. If they ask you to add a link on your site to their site, you should do this. It will take time to build your links, but you will be glad you did when you see your site listed on the top of the search results.

Considering Link Building

October 18th, 2010

Link building is one of the key components of Search Engine Optimization. Because it is so vital, it is important to be aware of what to look for and how to correctly go about link building.

Are you seeking at important link? You might have noticed when you do a search on a search engine like yahoo or Google, next to the website is a percentage. This is the percentage that the search engine rated the site as relevant to the key words you put in. So you might be wondering how google builds this percentage of relevancy? Simple answer. One of the key factors is the quantity of sites that include your link, however, it is not an only factor.

To have your link on your friend or other else’s page, oftentimes involves something what we call a link exchange or also known as reciprocal link. What this means is, basically, they will put your link on their site in exchange for you doing the same. What just happened is the introductory part of what is known as relevancy. It is very essential that you will ensure that the sites you use for this part of Search Engine Optimization link building are somehow coincidental in some discrete fashion to your site. For in some case, if you happen to have a golf and golfing on your web site, then a link about fishing is unimportant. If you do not have relevant links in your SEO link building, it is expected that you will receive a lower search engine rating.Prior to trading links, you must think a million times.

Another key to remember with Search Engine Optimization link building is that most search engines prefer the turtle approach. Hence, the saying is true that slow and steady wins out in the end. Search engines will usually give higher rank and relevancy ratings to those sites that show steady, slow and consistent upward motion.

There is one exception to relevancy ranking that might have an effect on your Search Engine Optimization link building strategies and the time frame you have in mind. Some search engines will not rank a site unless it has been active for a minimum of six months. When the time comes that your site will not be ranked anymore, its time to learn and practice your Search Engine Optimization link building, It permits a link to age. It is more favorable and attractive when the relevant link is on your site for a prolonged time. Keep in mind that with Search Engine Optimization, building a link is all about the relevancy.

The Beginnings Of Business Web Directories

September 6th, 2010

Web directories for promoting business websites have become quite common. However, they have changed over the years and while links to websites were hand picked and included in the directories based on a recommendation or website worthiness at one time, this is not the case any longer. Business web directories have grown with the Internet, the necessity for inclusion in the best directories still exists, albeit differently.

The biggest search engines at the beginning of web directories integrated both Yahoo and Google, among others. The inclusion of a business link within these sites was the hallmark of a great or exceptional business. The procedure for selection and placement into the directory was completed by hand and those that made it towards the top meant that the business in question had something to provide that no other had, no matter what it was.

However, when websites became simpler and much less costly to build and maintain, they grew in numbers. This meant there was a lot more competition in terms of selecting the very best links for the web directories. This also meant that numerous more businesses had been integrated and also the sites grew to scale with the Internet. However, this created the issue of which links were the very best rated and how would a visitor towards the directory search via them and discover what they had been searching for. Not only could the directories’ editors and hand selectors not maintain up using the ever-increasing amount of hyperlinks for directory submission in require of review, but also they could not seem to maintain up with the maintenance of the directories, resulting in broken links and 404 errors everywhere.

This is when automated business web directories started producing an appearance additionally to numerous pay schemes for link inclusion. Because smaller businesses would not wish to pay the nominal fees for website evaluation and inclusion within the business web directories, the editors would not need to be cluttered with websites that id not belong within the first place. This left much more openings to larger and more worthy businesses for inclusion towards the sites, meaning significantly less work for the editors.

Then the Internet search systems began to appear, although they began out as well slow and had been as well inaccurate to be of any use to individuals searching for businesses, and offered little to no competition towards the internet business directories. However, these search engines rapidly became a lot more cost-effective and precise and eventually competed with the directories on a larger scale where they now dominate the Internet in providing the most accurate lookup results possible.

In modern times, the web business directories are based on a pay-per-click model of which business advertisers bid for keyword matches and ad inclusion and for each click-through to the website. These web business directories are not directories at all, they are refined search engine results of which have an efficiency never seen before and because each inclusion is paid for, categories are always relevant and updated. The downfall to this system is that it can become quite expensive.

The future of the internet business directory is in technology because without active and functional lookup tools, users of these sites cannot lookup coherently for anything. Directory editors are constantly overwhelmed using the hundreds of thousands of websites in need of evaluation and simply because most are performed by volunteers, numerous from the websites go unlocked at and unlisted, thus pushing them to other venues. If the search engines can utilize the very best search algorithms, then the web business directories ought to have the capability to do the same, although numerous don’t, which leaves the future of web business directories up in the air.
